Intel’s “Sandy Bridge” for Mac Pro CPU?

I admit to being thoroughly unclear on Intel’s “Sandy Bridge” offering for desktops, and how they might apply to a new Mac Pro model. I have yet to see a coherently written article on what is or will be available.

But one thing is clear: Apple has not announced a new Mac Pro, and last year Apple delayed 4 months (April to August) before releasing a not-so-new Mac Pro. So if you’re holding off on a new Mac Pro, it’s not at all clear how long the wait will be, or if there will be any big gains to be had, as there are with the new 2011 MacBook Pro.
