New Mac Pro Late in 2011 or Early 2012?
Site MacRumors.com reports that the new Intel “Sandy Bridge” processors might appear in the late November time frame, based upon a rumor at VR-Zone.com. So that’s a rumor discussing a rumor.
All well and good, but why would Apple rush out a new Mac Pro? The iPhone 5 is likely to launch in October (another rumor), and the iPhone is bread and butter for Apple. The Mac Pro is a bread crust at plate’s edge, an afterthought.
When processors suitable for a new model Mac Pro appear do appear, it does not mean that Apple will rush a new model out, because it is almost irrevant to the business. If there are any reasons to wait (such as USB 3 support, or motherboard tweaks or a big redesign), Apple will wait, perhaps for months.
Finally, the existing Mac Pro is a very nice machine, especially as an all-SSD build.
