Panorama assembly in Photoshop consists of Auto Align Layers and Auto Blend Layers. The task uses CPU cores minimally, so the speed reflects the efficiency of a single CPU core.

PTGui 12.24: Blending 1/2, optimum seams, zero overlap, Lanczos 16

Panorama assembly is largely single-threaded—fastest single CPU core wins. GPU might also be involved but how much is unclear.

The 2023 MacBook Pro M3 Max turns out the best performance. However, in Photoshop panorama assembly (same task!), the Mac Pro wins handily.

The 2019 iMac 5K lags badly, taking 2.4X as long as the M3 Max.
